As you may recall, comedian Pete Davidson and actor Kate Beckinsale stunned the masses when they were first spotted leaving a 2019 Golden Globes afterparty together. Later, Davidson took to his gig at “Saturday Night Live” to address all the criticism regarding the couple’s 20-year age gap. “Apparently people have a crazy fascination with our age difference, but it doesn’t really bother us,” Davidson began, per Today.
“But then again, I’m new to this. So, if you have questions about a relationship with a big age difference, just ask Leonardo DiCaprio, Jason Statham, Michael Douglas, Richard Gere, Jeff Goldblum, Scott Disick, Dane Cook, Derek Jeter, Bruce Willis, Harrison Ford, Tommy Lee, Alec Baldwin, Sean Penn…” he joked. Alas, in the end, the relationship did not go the distance. “They’re still friendly but are not on romantic terms,” a source told ET about the split in April 2019.
In January 2020, after Kate Beckinsale was spotted at yet another Golden Globes afterparty — only this time with ex-boyfriend Pete Davidson’s best friend Machine Gun Kelly — the “Underworld” star clapped back at an internet user for sparking rumors that she and MGK were romantically involved.
“Why don’t you worry about things that are actually happening and donate to the Australian wildfires rather than waste your time on things that are not happening and never were,” Beckinsale retorted, per Us Weekly. “And also please get a f****** life,” she added. YIKES. While Daily Mail did report that Beckinsale and MGK were seen leaving the festivities together a source told Us Weekly that “Kate and Machine Gun Kelly are just friends.”
But why did Beckinsale get so heated about the speculation? Perhaps it was less about her being romantically linked to MGK and more about her being romantically linked to someone Davidson is so close with…
Pete Davidson And Machine Gun Kelly Are Pals
The famous pals first met in 2017 while on the set of Nick Cannon’s game show series “Wild ‘N Out.” And the rest is simply history! “And then we became the bestest of the friends,” Davidson declared to Coveteur in 2019. In fact, the two are so close that MGK once entertained the idea of making Davidson his best man… and this was prior to his high-profile engagement to Megan Fox. “You’re gonna get married, I think.
That’s my prediction,” host Howard Stern told MGK during an episode of “The Howard Stern Show” in September 2020. “You’re gonna marry Megan. I think this is gonna happen, and I think Pete’s gonna be your best man. Am I correct?” he asked. As for MGK? He was game.
“Whoa, that’s cool,” he said. “Yeah, I’m down with that.” Something tells us these two wouldn’t let any woman come between their bromance… not even the beautiful and talented Kate Beckinsale.
