Serena Williams took to Instagram on Friday to share a fun clip of her sliding down a banister in heels and a tulle skirt. The 40-year-old tennis superstar was all smiles as she glided down the black railing before nearly falling.
She gracefully gained her footing as she did a spin, smiled and laughed. She wrote in her caption: ‘Cause why not?’ The professional athlete looked beautiful dressed in all black and displaying her fit curves in a sleeveless crop top.
A bit of her stomach showed in the fashionable outfit, which she punctuated with studded red-bottom heels. The mom-of-one flaunted a full face of glamorous makeup and wore her hair in honey-highlighted spiral curls styled with a side part.
The veteran sports star was decked out in jewelry from a watch to a ring, to two necklaces. In the nine-second video cameras could be heard flickering as Serena readied herself on the rail. After she landed on her feet people out of the camera’s view laughed and someone exclaimed, ‘Oh, my god. I can’t believe you actually did that!’
Williams even looked stunned herself as she giggled and threw her arms up in the air at the end of the outtake. The content was viewed more than half a million times by her 14.3 million followers within the first two hours it was posted. Serena later took to Instagram Stories to share more footage of her lighthearted fun from a different angle.
She added an instrumental of Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow’s 2021 hit Industry Baby. On Thursday night the living legend shared a photo with her daughter Alexis, four, kissing her on the cheek.
She appeared to be tucking her little one in for the night, as the photo was dimly lit and the mother-daughter duo were lying down.
Williams shares Alexis with her husband, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian. The pair met at a Rome hotel in 2015. They sat at tables right next to each other in a restaurant before grabbing breakfast together the following morning.
They became engaged at the same hotel in December of the following year. Before they were able to have the wedding, they had their daughter together.
They married in New Orleans in 2017 with a number of stars including Beyoncé and Kim Kardashian in attendance.
